The life of Pastor Joseph L. Thompson II stands as a testament to faith, dedication, and service, rooted in a strong Christian upbringing and guided by a profound call to ministry. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Pastor Joseph L. Thompson Sr. and Evangelist Estell Thompson, his formative years were shaped within a devout and God-fearing home. This foundation solidified in 1988 when he embraced salvation through faith, understanding the pivotal events of Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.

From an early age, Pastor Thompson recognized and answered the call to serve the Lord. He was licensed as a Minister and meticulously instructed in the fundamental doctrines of the word of God at the Faith Tabernacle of Deliverance Church of God in Christ, founded and pastored by his late father, Elder Joseph L. Thompson Sr. Following his father's passing, divine providence led his mother, Evangelist Estell Thompson, to assume the pastorate. Under her spiritual guidance, Pastor Thompson continued to imbibe the principles of "true" holiness and godly character essential for an ambassador of Christ, while also learning the crucial importance of order and protocol within the household of faith.

His consistent demonstration of excellent behavioral conduct, unwavering faithfulness to leadership, and an exemplary character paved the way for advancement within the ministry. In September of 2006, after a thorough examination by his spiritual leaders and the board of Presbyters, he was ordained as an Elder in the Lord’s Church under the esteemed leadership of Bishop Aubrey Baker Jr. Currently, Pastor Thompson serves as the Senior Pastor of the Faith Tabernacle of Deliverance Church of God in Christ. His extensive service also extends to various capacities at a jurisdictional level, including Sunday School Superintendent, Youth Department President, Minister of Music, and AIM Chairman. He presently holds the roles of Chief of Operations and Administrative Assistant, for the New York Southeast Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, and International Vice President of the International Youth Department for the Church of God in Christ.

Beyond his pastoral and administrative duties, Pastor Thompson is a proud brother to five siblings: Ladrecia, Larry, Connie, Shameka, and Regina. He is happily married to Deborah Chennelle, whom he endeavors to love with the same devotion Christ showed the church. Educationally, he completed his undergraduate studies at Nyack College, earning a Bachelor’s in Music with a minor in Bible and Theology. Despite his many roles, Pastor Thompson finds immense pride in his vocation as an educator, driven by a compelling desire to shape the minds of the youth. His ministry is marked by anointed preaching, prophetic accuracies and declarations, and an unwavering standard for "true" holiness throughout the body of Christ. It is unequivocally evident that his gift has not only created opportunities but is also elevating him to stand before great men. Indeed, Pastor Joseph L. Thompson II has been inducted into the kingdom for "such a time as this."
